Use the color control and Remove background with a keyboard. Brush cleanup requires a mouse, stylus or touch. Limit: 25 MB and 16 megapixels. Undo retains a few recent changes depending on image size.
How to remove an image background
- Choose a photo with a contrasting, simple background.
- Click its background or set the background color manually.
- Adjust tolerance and choose connected edges to protect isolated matching colors.
- Remove the background, then use Erase or Restore for detail cleanup.
- Download a transparent PNG and check the edges before using it.
Does it work on hair or complex scenes?
Color removal cannot reliably separate fine hair, transparent objects or subjects against busy scenes. Use the manual brush for small corrections. Keep the original image; the checkerboard is a preview of transparency and is not included in the PNG.
